I like sending n. little messages, either by text or IM (when he’s offline, that way he gets them when he logs on, hopefully), to let him know I’m thinking about him. I imagine he sometimes gets a bit bashful when he receives some of them—he’s just so nice and sweet-natured.

It’s nice to feel that you can be so open about your feelings towards someone—I really haven’t felt that in a good, long time. I can’t wait for him to return next Friday.

I’ve recently been inspired by my sister’s room-makeover. I particularly liked how she removed the doors from her closet (still a work in progress) and inserted her bookshelf and dresser.

I decided to rearrange my room, too. I’ve moved all the big pieces so far, now I just need to figure out where to put all of my books and small items, while aiming for a minimalist look as much as possible. Something’s going to have to give., I think.

I know I’ve neglected this space (and most of my other online spaces) for almost a month now. I blame 1.) not currently having a laptop in my possession that would allow me to constantly be online (to be remedied soon) and 2.) spending most of my free time eating lots and doing fun things with a wonderful guy who smells really nice and has a cute dog.

Welcome to America

Last night I went to my first baseball game ever. It was the Giants vs. the Phillies at AT&T Park in San Francisco. I’ve never even watched baseball on TV let alone know much about it, though I do remember playing it in elementary school (or maybe it was softball).

I’ve seen hockey games in person and it’s a completely different experience watching a game live and there are all of these little rules and traditions you take part in as a spectator. The atmosphere and energy, of course, is different, too.

Aside from the slight drizzle and chilly air, it was a really fun first experience complete with hotdog (very essential to the experience), garlic fries, beer (even more essential), hot chocolate and the Giants winning 7-2. Thanks, Nelson :)

Photograph taken by my friend who went to the day-game on Wednesday. Weather was not quite as nice when we went (because it was in the evening), and we sat a lot closer (lower level, sec. 121, row J, between home and third).

Happy moments

It’s that happy moment of eating something delicious in a sunny atmosphere while listening to your favorite music when you can reflect on the thing you wish you had, but instead of feeling blue, as you once felt, you feel content and accepting of its current absence from your life. And though you may still experience some slight melancholy, you’re looking forward to the things ahead.

Concert bliss

I’ve concluded that I enjoy concerts a lot more when I’m sitting down and relaxing with a beer (or chocolate mousse!), rather than standing and trying to move and crane my neck to see the band because there are too many tall folks in my way.

I saw Ra Ra Riot, Andrew Bird and Death Cab for Cutie yesterday evening at the Greek Theater in Berkeley with a new friend. It was such a great show; I felt so happy, even as it rained a little.

A grand gesture

When I decide to make some monumental change, like vowing to discard all things negative in my life, I want to make some grand gesture of it to mark a new chapter of my life, to experience that instant feeling of liberation and the optimism of a fresh, new beginning. And then afterwards I’d get ice cream or something.

It’s hard, though, knowing what you should do because it’s not necessarily something you want to do. I hate when there’s that emotional and intellectual disconnect, so my reluctance is making me wait a bit before I do anything grand and big, though I’m not quite sure what I’m waiting for.

I just bought this on Etsy today and I can’t wait for it to arrive in the mail. I love brass and silver things.

Since becoming well again after a few days in bed, and after basically being sick this entire semester, and despite my recently acquired stress [bald] spot (sigh), I’m feeling pretty good. This is going to be a good summer.
