Perfect
EdwardDroste: Beach house is my favorite music in the world. For REAL (via twitter)
You know the world is perfect when the lead singer of one of your favorite bands (Grizzly Bear) claims that his favorite music is your other favorite band (Beach House).
An incredible live performance of “Holy Dances” by, who else, Beach House.
Beach House, once again.

Yes, I saw Beach House for the third time last night; I refuse to break this addiction. They were the second opening band for The Walkmen (playing after Johnny and the Moon). Really great, as always. As were The Walkmen and Johnny and the Moon, but, come on, I was there for Beach House.
I went to the show with C. I was a bit apprehensive about going with him, at first. It’d been weeks since we last saw or spoke to each other and I was afraid it’d feel like we were strangers and that it’d be awkward. But it didn’t feel that way at all. It almost felt as though things hadn’t changed, though they obviously have.
I won’t deny that I still have feelings for him. But rather than feeling any sense of longing or sadness when I was with him (or even today, the day after), I felt acceptance, and happiness, because I really do enjoy his company.
After the show, we went back to his place where we made pasta as he strummed on the guitar. Then I went home.
It was fun.
Mail-love

I wasn’t expecting to get Beach House’s new 7” in the mail so soon as the release date is October 21st, so I was pleasantly surprised to open my mailbox on Saturday and find this. Naturally, it’s been playing non-stop.
Beach House, again.

This evening I saw Beach House once again. My one, sole Beach House-loving friend couldn’t go with me in the end, and no one else could or didn’t want to go with me, so I went by myself.
They were playing at the Swedish American Hall in San Francisco. I love this venue because it feels as though you’re attending a school play, with the wooden chairs lined up in front of the tiny stage, and the juice, chips and sandwiches being sold in the back.
I ate my chicken sandwich and my raspberry cookies and had a grand time bobbing my head to my favorite band. Every now and then, the thought, “I wish I was here with a guy I really dug!” popped into my head. Their music just has this uncanny ability to conjure up feelings of romance and sentimentality in me. Damn them.
For their second encore, they played my favorite song (“Holy Dances”) and their new song sounds absolutely amazing live. And when it was all over, Victoria closed it by saying to the crowd, “Now go be in love.” I love that.
What a great way to end the weekend.
Addendum (9/29, 7:15PM): I forgot to mention something funny. I was sitting next to couple (I’d say in their late twenties) who were obviously on their second or third date. I concluded this because they were asking each other what their favorite fruits and vegetables were.
“Hahah. That is awesome. It is that period of liking someone you don’t know that well, but wanting to know a lot of stupid details about them.” - Z
BEACH HOUSE - USED TO BE
“Recorded over the summer of 2008 after many exhaustive months of touring, “Used To Be” contemplates the spiritual and physical effects of life on the everchanging road, love and getting older…” Beach House
Beautiful new song from my most beloved band. I can’t wait to see them this Sunday.
Beach House

Have I adequately expressed how much I love and adore this band?
For the past nine (yes, nine) months, I’ve been listening to this band every single day, not once missing a beat. I’ve basically been living inside of it. In recent weeks, however, their record has been still and collecting dust as I’ve been dabbling in the dirty world of dance and electronic music to soothe my restlessness and want of change. But after the novelty of the new and different wears off (this applies to so, so many things), you just want to go back to what feels wholesome, heartfelt and just plain beautiful. Naturally, I find myself spinning their record again.
We’ve been through a lot, Alex, Victoria and I. Together, we’ve had meals, slept and dreamt, baked, laughed, sung, cried and kissed a few boys (they all claimed to love them, of course—liars). It’s a wonderful thing when you find music that you can have this great emotional connection with and when you have built so many memories around it.
I’m pretty jazzed to see them at the end of the month in the city. I’ll never tire of these two.
BLACK CAB SESSIONS: ONE SONG. ONE TAKE. ONE CAB. Beach House - Heart of Chambers I love this rendition of the song. The steely guitar and drums, along with Victoria’s gorgeous, earthy voice and Alex’s accompanying harmonies. Please stay together, forever.
BEACH HOUSE - NORWAY
New song from Beach House. I love this band so, so much. I can listen to them at any time, no matter how I’m feeling. Music for all moods and seasons.
BEACH HOUSE - APPLE ORCHARD
Over and over and over…
Beach House - Holy Dances
Beach House - All The Years
I’ve been listening to this song every single day for the past three months, or so. I listen to it right before I sleep, when I take a shower, get dressed, while I’m in the car, on the train, everywhere. If I had a boy, I’d put this on a mix tape for him.
